Cycling MoT | Complete Package
£350.00
Your bike gets an MoT every year. Your body doesn’t — until now.
One 3-hour session, three checks that are normally booked separately: a CPET threshold test, full video-and-force cycling biomechanics, and an S&C screen — reported back as one integrated picture of your engine, your position, and your structure, not three separate print-outs that never talk to each other.
Description
What’s covered
An MoT doesn’t just check if your car starts — it checks the engine, the chassis, and the structural stuff that’ll fail quietly before it fails obviously. This is the same idea applied to you as a cyclist: three checks, one session, one report that connects them.
The Engine — CPET Threshold Test. A gas-exchange threshold test identifying your ventilatory thresholds (VT1/VT2) directly from breath-by-breath data — the same rigour as our standalone threshold testing, establishing exactly where your aerobic and sustainable-effort ceilings actually sit, not an estimate.
The Chassis — Cycling Biomechanics (Video + Force). Multi-angle video and IMU force analysis of your position and pedal stroke on the bike, captured through the same effort as your threshold test — so we see your mechanics fresh AND under rising load, not just a static bike-fit snapshot at rest.
The Structure — Cycling S&C Screen. A dry-land strength, mobility and movement screen focused on what cycling actually demands: hip and ankle mobility for the pedal stroke, core and postural endurance for holding your position, and the strength markers that predict whether your position is sustainable or just survivable for now.
Why one integrated report matters: run separately, these three tests each tell you something. Run together and read as one report, they tell you why — is a mobility restriction from the S&C screen the actual reason your position degrades late in the threshold test? Is your engine strong but your chassis leaking power through a pedal-stroke inefficiency? That cross-referencing is the actual point of the MoT, not just convenience.
Session flow (~3 hours)
1. S&C screen — dry land, done first, before fatigue affects the movement screen
2. CPET threshold test with simultaneous video + IMU biomechanics capture — one effort, two data streams
3. Debrief and integrated report walkthrough
What you’ll get
– VT1/VT2 thresholds, with training zones
– Position and pedal-stroke video/force analysis, fresh and under load
– Full S&C screen results, flagged against cycling-specific demands
– One integrated report connecting all three — not three separate documents
What you can tailor
Add one of our other cycling checks – a comparison of your road vs TT or road vs gravel bike, a detailed dive into your physiology or biomechanics, or a fully ecologically valid aerodynamic session not in a wind tunnel but where it matters most, on the road.
