Protect Your Framework: Why Bone Density Matters

Whether you are an endurance athlete trying to avoid stress fractures, a woman navigating hormonal changes, or an individual proactive about healthy aging, your bone mineral density is a vital indicator of structural health.

The GE Achilles Express is a gold-standard, dry-ultrasound osteodensitometer trusted by medical clinics worldwide. Unlike heavy hospital DEXA scans, the Achilles Express measures the speed of sound (SOS) and broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) through the calcaneus (heel bone). Because the heel consists of trabecular bone—which is metabolically identical to the hip and spine—it acts as an exceptionally accurate, early-warning mirror for systemic bone loss and osteoporosis risk.

What Your Report Reveals

Stiffness Index: A highly predictive composite metric that combines ultrasound attenuation and sound velocity to define the structural strength and quality of your bone matrix.

T-Score Generation: Compares your bone density against a healthy, young adult baseline. This is the internationally recognized clinical metric used to categorize normal bone, osteopenia (early bone thinning), or osteoporosis.

Z-Score Tracking: Compares your bone density against the average population baseline for your exact age, weight, and gender, helping isolate if bone loss is normal or accelerated.

10-Year Fracture Risk Estimation: Combines your physical scores with clinical data to help map your statistical vulnerability to bone injuries during daily life or sports.

What’s Included in Your Session

A Radiation-Free Ultrasound Scan: A comfortable, completely dry test where you place your bare foot into the heated, water-filled membrane well. The scan is completed in just 60 seconds.

Instant Analytical Color Report: A printed physical readout charting your scores cleanly on the World Health Organization (WHO) risk graph.

15-Minute Health Consultation: We guide you through your unique numbers, providing clear dietary, supplemental (Vitamin D3/Calcium), and resistance-training adjustments to preserve or actively build your skeletal strength.

Important Pre-Test Preparation Rules

To ensure an effortless and highly repeatable testing environment, please adhere to the following protocols:

Foot Condition: The test is performed on a bare foot. Please ensure your feet are clean and completely free of heavy lotions, creams, or oils on the testing day.

Footwear: Wear easily removable shoes and socks/stockings, as you will need to bare your heel and ankle.

Testing Site Availability: If you have had a recent injury, fracture, or open wound on one specific ankle or heel, please let our team know so we can comfortably test the opposite leg.

Safety Note: Because this technology relies entirely on safe, mechanical sound waves (ultrasound) rather than ionizing radiation, it is 100% safe for pregnant individuals, youth athletes, and frequent tracking.
